Conference
SHARE Conference is a new kind of festival created by the State of Exit Foundation. For the first time in the region, a host of internationally acclaimed internet and social activism experts, new media artists and renowned musicians will be present in one place at the same time. The festival has two main program units: the innovatie SHARE by Day education platform and intensive SHARE by Night with Tuborg parties. Belgrade will thus become the hot spot for sharing knowledge, ideas and fun at performances, lectures, workshops and exhibitions featuring representatives from Google, Harvard, MIT, Obama's marketing team and the likes. Dom Omladine with its 3 halls is the festival's main venue, and another 8 clubs will host around 700 regional opinion-makers, as well as 15,000 local and international visitors. A single wristband will grant access to more than 100 events of the festival.
The ideology of the SHARE Conference Project is rooted in the free exchange of ideas, information and artefacts. SHARE aims to inspire solidarity, encouraging people to share their experiences, knowledge and music.
SHARE BY DAY
is a unique educational platform that represents new forms of social activism, and promotes internet, new media and music related contents, a feat done for the first time in the region. Renowned DJs will leave their primary roles and demonstrate the know-how and skills that keep them on top of their game. They will be doing experimental audio workshops and give lectures on alternative controller systems and real-time production. Lectures, workshops and exhibitions will feature both activists and artists, thanks to whom a hope to keep the ever-diminishing freedom of expression in a postmodern society is still kept alive. The issues of freedom and availability of information will also be on the table. Conference speakers will discuss the role of social, economic, and political factors in the aforementioned context. This subject matter was brought about by a surge in social media usage in the government sector, as well as by the mobilisation of digital tribes fighting for human rights.
Hitherto, a number of lecturers on digital activism associated with the likes of Google, Twitter, Harvard and MIT have confirmed their presence at the conference.
TACTICAL DATA
Tactical Data is about understanding the data sphere with the information flows processed through various media. We want to explore different aspects of the data: their production, distribution, storage, accessibility, ownership, selection and use in contemporary societies. How is the data sphere regulated by the political, social or economic factors? Should open access to information be regulated by the government, and what constitutes citizen's rights of access to public or government data? Can data be freely available, without the copyright restrictions, patents or other mechanisms of information control? The conceptual frame of the Tactical Data Conference encompasses the vast spaces from the dark corners of deep web to the surface of Geo positioning data. It comprises everything from the government initiatives to cyber dissidents, from crowd sourcing to the corporate kingdoms of data, from the raw data to their complex visualizations.
DIGITAL TRIBES
This is a gathering of the postmodern digital tribes. With the explosion of digital tools and platforms that can coordinate and connect groups of people with similar ideas, visions, interest and needs, we are witnessing the creation of thousands of digital tribes, micro subcultural units, sometimes more powerful and influential than governments, media giants or political parties. We will examine the methods of creating, participating and mobilising today's digital tribes and try to find those who are pushing the boundaries and shaping the future of the social, political and media sphere. At our conference, we will tread the battlefields of political tribes, explore the enormous jungles of online gaming, and meet armies of hackers. We will visit the territories of digital manufacturing factories and Do It Yourself communities, alternate reality nomads, and life hackers. We will observe the clouds of creative thinkers and experience the flash mob spirit.
EXIT MUSIC CONFERENCE
Exit Music Conference (EMC) is a program that debuted last year at the Exit Festival, and this year it will extend into the music program at SHARE by Day. Dom Omladine will be the meeting point for regional DJs, producers and sound designers on one side, and international stars performing at the conference on the other. This groundbreaking platform will provide a unique opportunity for participants to share knowledge and experience regarding the cutting-edge issues in the alternative music industry. The competition for delegates from the region will run until March 10, and the competitions for summer EMC at the Exit Festival will ensue after the SHARE Conference. In that way EMC becomes a year-round event helping young and aspiring professionals launch their careers.
SHARE BY NIGHT with TUBORG
Championing modern music and musicians alike, Tuborg has been synonymous with quality entertainment for years, a brand invariably devoted to innovation. With a tight schedule of parties and live performances, SHARE by Night with Tuborg will galvanize the Belgrade club scene and infuse it with a true festival spirit. The clubs will take on the role of festival stages and a single wristband will grant visitors access to all clubs. Aside from Dom Omladine, which sports 3 halls, as the festival's main venue, the visitors will be able to mingle at other venues and events, and try to live up to the breathtaking tempo of the exceptional music program. Other stages are represented by Belgrade's finest clubs: Tube, KC Grad, Gun, Plastic, Energija, etc.
DJs whose style can only be subsumed under the name of their act and bands that create new sub-genres will present you with uncompromising music and entertainment.
Carl Craig, Does It Offend You Yeah, Beardyman, Fabio, Jimmy Edgar, Minitel Rose, Rustie & MJ Cole are among the first acts confirmed for the night program of the SHARE Conference.
